Cardiovascular Surgery Locum Physician: Colorado Springs, Colorado (CO)


Sumo Medical Staffing is recruiting an experienced Cardiovascular to work call coverage in Colorado Springs, Colorado (CO). Starting as soon as credentialed, the role offers ongoing work with a competitive market rate and benefits.


The Cardiovascular Surgery role:

  • Anticipated days needed: Friday-Sunday, some vacation weekdays call coverage (6a-6a).
  • Procedures: Trauma Level I, solo vascular component. 100% Adult. General CV/Open -Thoracic Surgery. Coronary artery bypass surgery – on pump & off-pump. Congenital defects. Ask for a listing.
  • PPD: 10-15 hospital-based patients. 1-2 Admissions, 8-10 ICU, 1-2 Surgeries
  • Facility: 400 beds, 12 ICU beds.
  • Support team: 2 physicians in practice, 5 Mid-levels
  • Required to call supervision and provide clinical oversight, as appropriate.
  • EMR: EPIC

Requirements for immediate consideration for the Cardiovascular role:

  • Active CO License or Active IMLC (LOQ)
  • Board certified – Cardiovascular Surgery.
  • Must be able to perform full list of procedures.
  • Present with experience performing heart/cardiac cases.
  • Case logs. Strong surgical case volume.
  • Active BLS, ACLS (AHA) certifications
  • Clean background/no malpractice.
  • Open for Locum to Perm candidates.
  • Covid vaccination
